The volume of this body of work was born out of a need to bear witness to the stories of the slave trade. Not just what Africans endured after coming to the Caribbean and America, but also of those left behind, what was lost, the journey, the life on foreign lands and the aftermath. I have allowed the energy that we all carry to whisper in my ear and hopefully, I can continue to transfer those whispers into art.
